THE UVTKFS was established on July 1, 2005 by Gert-Jan Ketelaar, with the support of Roderick Smith and Barnoud Vos. The cooperation is a result of the enthusiasm of these trainers for Ving Tsun Kung Fu, which they began in Hilversum and continue to train regularly with each other.
United, joined as one, harmonious and working together. "To be united", is the aim of the cooperation with the schools and members who are associated with us.
A formal group of people with common interests, association, society. The "society" encompasses the total group of members of all schools, where, aside from intensive training, friendship, collegial structure and a good mentality are the keys to our success.
The Chinese letters in the logo were scripted by Wong Shun Leung in 1995, the logo of the UVTKFS has been designed by Gert-Jan.
On the dark blue t-shirt of the UVTKFS, the logo can appear in 3 different colors. The red logo is worn by all members, the white logo is only carried by advanced practitioners and members of the core group. The yellow logo is worn only by the trainers of the UVTKFS.
In all the years past, there has been a myriad of Wing Chun schools in Europe, but the systems used differ enormously from the Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun in nearly all respects.
THE UVTKFS strives to train trainers who profess a genuine interest in Ving Tsun Kung Fu who want to perfect and pass on their knowledge and skills. The simple structure of the organization allows for the trainers to occupy themselves primarily with training. The trainers train and discuss weekly with each other, resulting in a continuous effort to improve the quality in both technical and didactic areas.
